Clubbing is one of the great joys of life, loud music, bad dancing and drinking with friends its many people’s idea of a great time. However, it can be hard to have a good time out if you don’t know the secrets to making it happen. Here are our top tips on how to ensure you’ll have a great night out clubbing.
1. Book A Hotel Room
Okay this sounds crazy, particularly if you’re clubbing in your home city, but it really works. Find some place cheap, but nice. Pool together with a few friends and book a room together. This means that you have a base of operations, no taxi fare home, and a place to dump/pick up whatever extras for the night and the next day. Also, if you book a room with several rooms, no awkward waking up with a stranger in your bed/in a stranger’s bed. That being said, don’t be too loud, and keep it clean you’ll want to do this again and its no good burning bridges.
2. Comfortable Clothing
Wear clothes that look good and are comfortable, particularly for those of us that like to wear heels. You’ll look great and feel great up until your feet are killing you, or worse, a heel breaks. Consider flats or boots with small heels, they can look just as good and are easier to work with. The same goes for clothes, comfortable and nice. You’ll thank me later.
3. Club Fees/Lockout
Most clubs charge entrance fees, but most normally have a time-frame where you can get in for free. Get yourself stamped. On that note, keep an eye on lockout times (if you’re unlucky enough to have them). Time your evening so that you’re at the best venue last.
You don’t want to spend a fortune, so take advantage of ‘happy hours’. However, as always, the most important thing is to know your limits, and keep track of your friends. Vomiting in a bush, and having the mother of all hangovers is not how you want to spend night/next day. Quickeze and water are your friends.
Eat before you go out, something filling, but not heavy that’ll weigh you down. My recommendation for the best things to eat when drinking? McDonald’s macrons. You’ll thank me.
Those are the basic tips for having a good night out, and remember know your limits watch out for your friends. If you’re ever in an uncomfortable position, get help and stay safe. Have fun.
