There’s nothing worse than when you’re having an awesome night out when suddenly, your best friend taps you on the shoulder and says they want to leave. You’re reaction is torn between ‘REALLY!?’ and ‘wah’ and you’re having such a great time that you don’t want to leave. Do you really have to? Yes, it’s generally a good idea.
It’s a pain in the ass, I know. It brings down your buzz and that hottie you were dancing with can forget coming home with you and your buzzkill best friend, but if you leave them, you will be on the hit list for bad friend karma for a while.
You see, leaving when your friend wants to is a selfless thing to do. They might be feeling sick, tired or upset and you’re sacrificing your happiness to make them feel better. Leaving the club when they want to ensures that they get home safe and don’t have some dirty stranger with them. You will also be known as a great friend forever and will probably receive some free McDonald’s for your troubles.
Don’t forget that friendship also relies on trust and it’s an amazing feeling to know you have a best friend that would do the same for you. How do you know they would do the same for you? Well, you left the club for them, so next time you’re having a shitty night out, they owe you one and have to leave with you too.
