Nightclubs are one of the places people tend to rock the latest fashions; Girls in particular tend to go shopping just for the occasion (any excuse right!) If you need some inspiration, or perhaps you just want to see what’s hot at the moment.
We’ve compiled a list of 4 trends to include into your ‘clubbing’ wardrobe this season:
1. Anything neon – hold on, before the words “Gold Coast” and “music festivals” come out of your mouth, we’re talking classy, stylish neon, not trashy fluro wife-beaters or headbands. A big no, no is pairing neon with neon though (you don’t wanna look like a flashing beacon do you!) Neon for this season is really more about the accessories; neon stiletto’s or earrings with a neutral coloured outfit is the way to go!
2. The Gangster look - if you’ve been shopping lately, then you would’ve noticed all the clothing/accessories and footwear which could double as weapons: purses with what look like knuckle-dusters on the handles, clothing with chains coming off them and stiletto’s with spikes (there are literally a pair of heels for sale in a shop, which will remain anonymous, that actually come with a legal warning/declaration that they cannot be used as weapons by the buyer, that is some crazy-ass sh*t!). Great to add a bit of ‘danger’ to an outfit – plus it’ll ward off any unwanted advances!
3. American-Indian inspired prints - these are something completely different and you’ll notice them when you see them! Consisting of mostly asymmetrical patterns and neutral colours like brick-red, brown, beige, black and the odd navy blue, these could be mistaken as Aztec or Mexican prints. If you’re brave enough you can rock the prints with the wild animals or tribes-people on them!
4. Leather - this trend was around at the end of last season, but has stuck (our hunch is that is has something to do with Anne Hathaway in The Dark Night Rises) This trend seems to have stuck mainly to skirts but also extends to the odd jacket. Pair with other neutral block colours or metallics – black, brown, gold, bronze and beige go great together.
