Brazilian heavy metal band Cavalera Conspiracy are taking some time out of their busy schedule touring the country as part of the Big Day Out for their own gigs at Melbourne’s Billboard Nightclub on Wednesday February 1st, 2012, and Brisbane’s The Hi-Fi on Monday February 6th, 2012.
Heavy metal aficionados will want to check them out as Cavalera Conspiracy are the new band formed by the Cavalera brothers Max and Iggor, who were formerly part of the huge ’90s metal band Sepultura. The brothers had a falling out that not only caused Sepultura to disintegrate, but also started a decade long snubbing of one another. Eventually the two put their differences aside and decided to renew their musical partnership from scratch as Cavalera Conspiracy.
Showing that not all Latino music is the swinging mambo music often associated with Latin America, these Brazilians are going to be tearing up these venues. Cavalera Conspiracy are being supported by Melbourne metal band Contrive who start at 8:20pm and then by Gold Coast metal band Lynchmada at 9:15pm, revving up the long haired, black wearing and surely pierced angst-ridden crowd by getting them to do some headbanging and doing the rock salute before the thrashing around and screaming that awaits them from songs mostly about death, destruction and bringing down society. While Cavalera Conspiracy will probably mostly play new tracks from their latest album Blunt Force Trauma, they will surely play a few Sepultura era tracks here and there for old times sake.
Having already played sideshows in Newcastle, Canberra and Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane heavy metal fans will surely not want to miss Cavalera Conspiracy playing while they are still down under.
Sales for tickets for the Melbourne show close at 5pm on the 1st of February and are going for $71.70, while Brisbane tickets are $71.50 each and tickets sales close at 6pm on the 6th of February. Rock on!
