Live music, salacious food and drink choices with views that break past its floor-to-ceiling glass façade, Sydney’s newly renovated entertainment venue, The Star, is going all out this New Year’s.
After its recent redevelopment, it has practically turned its building around so that you may enjoy maximum harbour-side views to the fireworks against the backdrop of the city skyline.
With a projection of a stellar turnout for NYE, The Star offers irresistible restaurant packages to while away 2011 and welcome in 2012:
BLACK by ezard, a contemporary grill, will feature a seven course degustation menu by award-winning chef Teage. At $320 per person, the package is available 8pm ‘til late and guests are invited to complement the menu with matching wines for an added $150 per person.
Balla, with popular Italian chef Stefano Manfredi, features a seven course menu showcasing Manfredi’s signature cuisine. $290 per person, package is available from 8pm. Matching wines is an extra $125 per person.
Sokyo, a new and contemporary Japanese restaurant, will serve an eight course Omakase menu created by ex-Nobu chef, Chase Kojima. $175 per person and for an extra $95 per person gets matching wine and sake. Sokyo is located in the lobby of The Star’s new five-star hotel, The Darling.
Not to be outdone, the bars at The Star are on standby as 2012 ticks over:
At glossily-built Cherry, $80 per person will get guests, starting at 6pm, exclusive performances by DJ duo Flight Facilities and support acts James Curd, Graz and Christian Ralston, rounded off with a glass of champagne at midnight.
Rock Lily, bursting at the seams with its world-famous tequilas, offers a live music lineup including Australian rock outfit, Little Red and supported by Jinja Safari. Entry is $30 at the door from 6pm.
The Bar at Sokyo, where its cocktails and chilled sake beckons, will see guests served with canapés and beats from resident DJ from 6pm until late. $50 per person.
Also at The Star, guests can watch the fireworks on the mega screen with various free live entertainment throughout the night at the 24/7 Sports Bar.
