One of the joys of a balmy St Kilda day is the progression into the long and untamed St Kilda evening. Another bottle down, voices getting louder and all regard for reality slowly exits with the sun. Now the party realises it is time to get a little dance on and find the tunes that will keep you going with the clock. Cue the latest gift to St Kilda’s popular Fitzroy Street, Pretty Please.

You cannot deny the cool vibe within these walls, down the narrow entry and beyond the curtain there is a little party with a million of your new friends.

The 18-30 crowd is ‘indie cool’ minus the pretentious flair. Dress in what makes you feel good and don’t be scared to take risks. Clash prints, break the rules, be bold and live dangerously. Skinny jeans are not far from the dance floor – though don’t feel out of place if it’s not your style boys, Pretty Please will not discriminate.

The bottom floor is the space to be although is not overly large, mirrors add to the illusion and once you are in it becomes a comfortable place to play. When your legs are tired or you feel like sneaking away from the dance floor for a private rendezvous, there is comfortable seating along the walls that will make you happy – though you wont be seated for very long, that is certain.

The music is always the decider – and Pretty Please have most definitely come through with the goodness. With its grand mix up over Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm-7am, securing local and international acts smashing disco, indie, house, electro as they pass through our city. There is so much more just pick your evening wisely.

If you happen to be a Very Important Person or simply in a private function, upstairs is a world of its own equipped with another bar and super styled private booths to get lost it.

Pretty Please will put you out of pocket around about a cheeky $20 on a typical weekend night, though a little more if a well-known headliner is making the music. On the odd occasion an event may be ticketed so check it out before your head in.

The best way to suss out what will float your boat on what night, look up Pretty Please on facebook, they are ever so informative and will hit you up with what to expect.
