The Lincolnshire Arms Hotel, or ‘The Linc’ as it is affectionately known, sits on the big roundabout where Mt Alexander, Bulla, Keilor and Lincoln Roads all meet right in the heart of the North Essendon Village. It’s been a favoured eating, drinking and meeting spot for the residents of Melbourne’s North West for many decades. The Linc Bar has something for everyone. Watching the footy on the big screen, having a quiet chardonnay on the couches next to the window, or relaxing with friends in front of the fire when it’s cold outside. You can also catch some live entertainment later in the week, it’s a perfect spot for meeting up and being social.

The “Linc” Review

Review By Stephanie Isherwood

The Lincolnshire Arms, or The Linc, as it’s more commonly known, is first and foremost what could be considered a perfect pub. It has everything the perfect pub has; a Sports Bar, a Pokies room, a Bistro, a Bar and even an enclosed smoking room, all set up to provide you with the perfect home away from home. The Linc is one of the few places left that really cater to all patrons wants and needs, without being too pretentious.

For all those sports fans out there, the Sports Bar has over 30 screens showing all your favourite games and races, and provides a place to bet or just relax and enjoy the movement around you. The Sports Bar is in a separate enclosed room away from the more crowded Public Bar to ensure you can get the most from the venue, while still enjoying the pub atmosphere and the amazing range of beer.

The Pokies room is small and quiet, again with its own bar. This room is great to get away from the hubbub of the rest of the pub and offers only the most exciting Pokies machines out there.

The Bistro caters for family and revellers alike, with the best of pub grub at surprisingly reasonable prices. While there isn’t table service, this is a small price to pay in return for a good night out. The Bistro has been recently renovated and while it still remains true to its origins, it now appears to look more like a casual restaurant and this in turn only increases the enjoyment of The Linc experience.

The Bar stretches through the Bistro and through the rest of the venue, providing patrons with constant easy access to the myriad of drinks available, all at amazing prices which won’t leave you without enough cab money to get home.

The Linc has a Trivia Night every Tuesday, live music every Thursday night, it hosts a casual party-style night on a Friday and every Saturday patrons get dressed up to break down to the dance hits that play loud and proud through the venue.

The best part of The Linc is that no matter who you are, how you’re dressed, or what type of night you’re after, The Linc will cater to your needs. So head down to The Linc any night of the week and be prepared for an all-in-one venue that will keep you coming back for more.
