Review of The Bavarian Bier Cafe

Review Catherine Torbey

Pure food. Pure Bier. Pure Passion. The Bavarian Bier Cafe captures the very essence of Bavaria in its food, people, and of course, bier! This bar and restaurant which recently opened in Brisbane will transport you all the way to a place which is famous for its good times - Germany!

Located on Eagle Street Pier, the Bavarian Bier Cafe is placed right in the centre of Brisbane, a measly walk from the business offices and shops in the CBD. Before even trying the mouth watering menu on offer, the modern and glamorous decor is sure to take your breath away as soon as you walk through the door. Numerous glass bier mugs are on display, creating large walls of stunning glass throughout the venue. This sensational feature demonstrates the uniqueness of BBC, offering a fresh taste to the multitude of Brisbane bars and nightclubs. A large, rounded high ceiling above one of the bar areas is extremely modern and attractive, whilst tables and seating are scattered throughout the venue. There is both an indoor area as well as outside seating on the pier, overlooking the amazing and highly sought after views of the Brisbane River and Storey Bridge.

BBC is the perfect location for workers and business people to loosen their ties after a busy working day or to grab a bite on a lunch break. As it is so close to the many businesses in Brisbane City, it is a popular option for workers to have a few drinks with colleagues, as well as to younger crowds who like to have dinner with friends or drinks before heading out on the town. BBC lures in an eclectic crowd, both young and old, looking to have an enjoyable time. Needless to say, they are in the right place! A menu of authentic and appetising German cuisine is on offer, including pretzels, Schnitzel and Bavarian sausages. And of course, a Bavarian Bier Cafe would not be the same without a delectable drink menu with a German twist. Most cocktails range from about $15-$18, each with a Bavarian spin, including the enticing 'Munich Mule', and 'Apfel Strudel'. A large range of schnapps is also available, placing you right in the heart of Germany.

The Bavarian Bier Cafe truly is pure food, pure bier and pure passion. From the scrumptious menu to the fine decor, it is clear that to enjoy Germany's famous cuisine and bier there is no need to buy a plane ticket; Brisbane's Bavarian Bier Cafe is the place to be! Schnapps all round to the BBC!
